The Spring 2018 Meeting will be a special event where we celebrate 100 years of transformer standards development, as well as the evolution of the Transformers Committee and all that it has accomplished. Join us for a celebration reception and dinner with many IEEE dignitaries and old friends joining us in our celebration. The celebration banquet will be an exciting evening, with special and fun awards, a historic program booklet, a unique memento for attendees, and more. The speaker for the evening will be Don McMillan, "Named #1 Corporate Comedian" by the CBS Business Net.  Come enjoy our history, recognize your colleagues, and reconnect with old friends in the historic city of Pittsburgh.

► Monday, March 26: Spouse/Companion Tour - Fallingwater

Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most widely acclaimed works, was designed in 1935 for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner, Edgar J. Kaufmann.  Fallingwater is the only major Wright work to come into the public domain with its setting, original furnishings and artwork attached. After the one-hour tour, lunch will be served at The Historic Stone House Restaurant, located in the scenic Laurel Mountains.

► Tuesday, March 27: Spouse/Companion Tour - Gems of Pittsburgh

Enjoy a visit to the spectacular Phipps Conservatory. A green oasis in the middle of Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood, Phipps has provided a world-class garden experience to its visitors since 1893. Discover breathtaking seasonal flower shows, stunning outdoor botanical gardens, and some of the greenest buildings in the world.

 ►  Sunday Tour, March 25 - Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, Inc.

See first-hand the latest manufacturing processes employed and the vast production capabilities of PTTI's 1,000,000 sq. ft. transformer facility in Canonsburg, PA. The tour will depart the hotel at 8:30am and return by 1:30 pm. Lunch will be provided.

 ►  Monday Tour, March 26 - Mitsubishi Electric - High Voltage Switchgear Division

Mitsubishi Electric invites you to explore our state-of-the-art green facilities located only 25 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh.  Buses will depart the Omni William Penn at 6:15pm traveling to our headquarters for dinner and tours of our High Voltage Switchgear Division and Electric Distribution Division buildings where you will get to experience our cutting edge technology.

 ►  Wednesday Tour,  March 28 - ABB High Voltage Breakers and Arresters

Visitors to the ABB High Voltage North American headquarters, located in Mt. Pleasant, PA, will be able to tour the global manufacturing home for Dead Tank Circuit Breakers, as well as the North American manufacturing and assembly lines for Surge Arresters and Capacitor Banks!
