► TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16: SPOUSE/COMPANION TOUR - GILDED AGE TOUR OF ST. AUGUSTINE

Begin the day with a narrated trolley ride around St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city. Tour guides will showcase the city’s highlights and history before dropping guests off at the Lightner Museum.  Housed in the former Alcazar Hotel built in 1888 by Henry Flagler, the Lightner Museum is home to one of the best collections of fine and decorative 19th century art in the country. After the tour, spend additional time exploring exhibits on your own before getting back on the trolley.

The oldest masonry fort in the continental United States, Castillo de San Marcos is a large Spanish stone fortress built to protect and defend Spain’s claims in the New World. It’s also one of the main attractions visitors to St. Augustine come to see. Explore this National Monument on your own before heading to lunch via trolley at St. George Street’s historic Columbia Restaurant, followed by time to stroll and shop before heading back to the hotel.
